Default m1 bayonets?

what year did the16" bayonets get cut down to 10"

Thanks for the great information. Awaiting my first cmp m1 and since I don't if it will be an early or late production I was wondering which bayonet would be correct. thanks again for your help.

Any bayonet that the arms room had when the rifle was issued would be the proper one. M1 Bayonets we made 43-45. The M1905 and cut downs work for earlier issue.

Absolutely agree.


People get really wrapped-around-the axle about this, for no real reason. Same goes for slings.
