Default Scope Mount Holes.

Bought a barreled receiver drilled and tapped. My plans are not to utilize the holes but rather install rear sight and use the front sight on the barrel. I don't mind them being there but my question is do I need to plug them? Rifle is a 1903a3. If they do not need to be filled or plugged prior to shooting then I am okay with leaving them open as long as there is no safety issues.

There is no safety issues. Mine has holes too and I have been searching for the scope mount that would fit them without luck.

Enjoy her as is!

No safety issues. You can fill them with JB Weld and darken with a felt pen for a reversible fix. Good Shooting. ...
