Default Unliminted? Not!

Once again the "unlimited" M1 rules limit the weight of the rifle to 10.5 pounds.
This knocks out so many Garands that were built for competition.
Basically, just adding a laminated stock busts the weight limit.
What is the point of this rule? I heard it was to prevent an equipment race.
You can spend more building an as issued rifle than you will putting together a service rifle legal match grade M1.
I have a beautiful rifle that I can no longer compete with.
Just my 2-cents.

Question about the Glock (GSSF) Match at the Nationals. The CMP Match website lists the distances for the Course of Fire to be 5, 7, 10, 15, & 25 yards. The (Games) Rulebook lists the distances as 5, 7, 10, 12, & 15 yards. Is max distance 15 or 25 yards, which is correct?

I wonder why CMP have never added the Hi-Lux 8X USMC Sniper scope to the list of approved scopes for the 1903/1941A1 Springfield Vintage Sniper?

Table 7
United States:
.30-06 cal. 1941A1 Springfield
(C stock, Standard 1903 sights with
Unertl type scope on Unertl type
mounts and bases)
Winchester A5, Winchester B5, Winchester B3
USMC original issue: Unertl 8X
Sniper Telescope
Non-issue scopes: Unertl, Lyman or
Fekker 6X or 8X scope with up to a
1.5” objective; Leatherwood Malcolm
3X or 6X
Note: All scopes must have external
adjustment and no recoil spring.

Is there any legal way to increase the LOP on an M1 stock?

Thanks,
John

Default From a business perspective

In my past duties as a Quality Professional I have participated in far to many documentation reviews.

Perhaps a small band of shooters designated by us, the shooters, dissect the rule books line item by line item and document the perceived errors and respectfully present these with potential revisions to the BOD at the CMP.

The CMP BOD can then review our proposal and determine merit for any changes in the next revision.

What say ye?
