Recent changes have made placing optics on M1A and AR rifles much more popular and easy. You can try some of the Ebay Chinese mounts for less than a breakfast at Dennys ..... Good Shooting. ....

LOL.....I have to get over the thought that (to me) it's like "cheating" to use a scope on an M1 or M1a. Though......I may one day......do just that.

Yes, I try/tried for 1" at 25 yds. But, it seldom happens for me. Then.....the number of rounds for a "group" varys between shooters, loading directly from a magazine or clip, or even directly into a chamber, etc... Example: shooting a three round group doesn't do it for me. Especially if you're not shooting the entire 8 rds fed from a Garand clip or 5 and 5 fed from 2 different magazines of your M1a.

BTW.....I forgot to mention, that my JRA M14 (JRA calls their product an M14 though only semi-auto) is a plain old M14/M1a. Not some super duper MATCH rifle with all the bells and whistles.

Last time I shot at 100 yds with iron sights was with my 91/30 Mosin Nagant. I was happy enough to keep them in the black on the SR-1 using surplus ammo. Feeding from the magazine....all five rounds. But.....for me......it was NOT an enjoyable experience.

So, I've taken to shooting iron sights at 25 yds. It's a personal thing. I come home happier that way.

Aloha, Mark

PS.....to me.....the original thread was about cheap LC ammo.

The way I see it.....you can buy 2017 LC M80, for me delivered to WA, at about $0.45 per round (reloadable brass, Made in the USA) or you can buy surplus, late 70s - 80s, MAL at about $0.44 per round (non-reloadable brass, Made in Malaysia). Some have said the MAL is good/great stuff. But, I don't see pictures of their groups.

Anyway......it doesn't hurt me, if you choose not to buy. But IMHO, choice is A GOOD THING. Thanks again, to DougS for the heads up.

MAL boxer primed 7.62?*

Anyway, to me.....the term "hi-accuracy" just doesn't seem to go with regular military surplus.

OK, Ok, ok.....you guys with G11 ammo or "dedicated sniper ammo" can call me a lier.

Aloha, Mark

PS....my 5.56 MAL was boxer primed.

*OK, I see it now. Perhaps, different sellers....one seller said it was boxer. But, most say it's berdan. So maybe, I guess it depends on the lot#?

The current offerings of surplus Malaysian ammo is packaged in ammo cans.

Anyway....
I went shooting again today (6-9-18). Same ammo, only this time with a different M1a rifle. And, it made my goal of 1" at 25 yds. Well, one did and the other just missed it.

Aloha, Mark

Has anyone else purchased from this retailer? Any additional feed back? Thinking of ordering this LC ammo.
