Default Modern Military Rifle Match.

Wondering how this match went. Number of participants? What kind of rifles were used? Can you use an AR15a1 or a2, M1a? Will it be back as a permanent match?
Thanks
Chuck

Shot the MM Match. Looks like "you bring it, you can shoot it". Saw some AR "things" I couldn't describe. If the CMP people couldn't classify it as "as-issued" something MM, it went into "unlimited". No one was disappointed.
Not a lot of shooters. I'm think the AM match had about 50 active positions; the PM had maybe 30 active positions. Out side of the AR rifles, the M1A's seemed to be most common. We shot a couple BM59's. Saw some FN49's and FN SAL's. A couple SKS's! Metal cut-off was tough; must be due to all the AR stuff with scopes, etc. I was hoping the AR folks would be in their own class. At least we got Bronze. Great Match! All shooting is fun!
Mike.

Yes the Medal cut off was High.. 270 for bronze I just made it with 273 The afternoon relays went pretty smooth.. I think only 2 boats in the impact zone... But it was blazing hot... !!!!! Like 30cal said.. lots of M1As and some what the heck was that AR's

But the CMP guy went nuts on the randoms he was handing them out like candy... any AR he seen he was passing it out for inspection...

I tried to get a web sling set up on an SKS to shoot position; not a successful endeavor. I have a nice rifle, but it wasn't meant for competition shooting. I think it's one of those you hold at arms length and just shoot indiscriminately.

AR platform out numbered everything else by a long shot. I can tell you 3rd place was a scoped AR. If I recall correctly Nick Till(6th) said he fired a stock M-1A as did I (8th). There were 229 competitors.
