I wonder if the IHC service grades were pulled to complete mail orders? If so, does this mean the that IHC service grade offering is coming to an end? I always enjoy the South Store updates. The South Store is a 14 hour drive for me but I really enjoy the updates.

Ohh that isn't good. When they pull from the stores it usually means they are short of rifles for mail order.

That is usually a good sign that mail orders for that type will be cut off soon.

Default Another store trip is called for

Well, it looks like it is time for another trip to the store.
I am encouraged by the SA Field Grades with WWII dated barrels.
Been on the lookout for an SA with original barrel to go along with a nice early EMcF Stock I have.
Maybe I will get lucky tomorrow

lookin forward to the drive already,
Rob

Default West store report

A friend of mine I saw in Store South this morning made the trip to the West Store at TMP and has reported GREAT news. They have restocked the store with CMP rifles. The store will hold 84 rifles and he reported it about half full, it was full until they pulled all the IHC ‘s back to Anniston to fill mail order.

WRA SG 12 to include a Win13, some RG’s.

Some SA’s to include a five digit, summer 1940...

1903a3 Remington JB initial, 650.00

Looks like there will be two stops when you visit South and West Stories.

Good luck on your searches.

UPDATE:

The racks are full at West Store 75-80 rifles.

SA WWII Correct Grade, 2.

SA FG and RG

WRA SG and RG..

Good luck on your searches.

Default CMP West (TMP) Limited Report

Stopped by TMP this afternoon on the way home from Birmingham (Eagles concert last night) to show my wife the amazing Park and noticed the store was being stocked; counted 47 Garands in the racks. Looked to be a great deal of CMP walnut. Apologize for lack of details but we were on a tight schedule and the counter guys were both involved in conversations. If you can't find the M1 that speaks to you in the South Store, it might be 20 minutes away at the TMP.

Just a quick update on the TMP. I am the one who was with Tom at the South Store when it opened this morning. I then spent the rest of the day at the TMP.

I was in and out of the TMP store throughout the day. I watched the staff fill the racks then take all of the international Harvester rifles out of the racks and then replace what they took out with more Winchesters, some Springfield Armory FGs and rack grades. They also added two World War II SA correct.

The win – 13 is gone. I bought it. The staff and I tried really hard to convince a first time buyer to get it, but when I came back from shooting at the end of the day it was still in the rack, so I decided to buy it. Re-barreled with a 1963 Springfield Armory barrel, has a Springfield Armory bolt, and new walnut stock. The rest of the parts including the operating rod and the gas cylinder are Winchester. Lockbar sights too.

The five digit SA 39xxx was still there when I left.

I wish I could provide more detail, but it was a very fluid situation as the staff was changing out inventory throughout the afternoon.

Just two quick observations about the TMP store. The rifles are behind the long counter and mounted on racks that hang from the wall. There are six rifle to a rack and they had 14 racks up when I left. All but a handful of the slots had a rifle in them so I think you can count on a full shelf tomorrow.

The other thing that is a little bit different is because the rifles are behind the counter, I’m not sure how that’s going to work when you have a dozen to 15 people come in the store at once. I suppose is that something they will sort out as they go along.

Hope this helps those of you who are contemplating a trip tomorrow. If both stores are full then you’re talking 150 rifles give or take.
