I have Clawson's small book, but any of his is expensive.
I have a couple different books (Goodards etc), personally I like this one by Poyer
https://www.amazon.com/1911A1-Milita.../dp/1882391462

Its easy to find information, handy and not expensive.

Cool gun site is a great resource also.

Poyer's book is pretty good for the money.

The Clawson's big book is reputed to be the best authority out there, but it is to expensive for me.

Kuhnhausen(?) has a book out. Also www.m1911.org for a great website. Guy out of Greece runs it, lots of US posters though.

I like Jerry Kuhnhausen's books on the 1911. They're available as free downloads on a few websites. That said, there are many great books out there on the 1911.
