Just a slight misunderstanding, he meant museum quality like this Walther Model 4 at the Alvin C York exhibit.

Some came from the museum system and the rest came from normal army channels.

As it is, here is the exact wording they used, no specific numbers

These pistols were rebuilt at Anniston Army Depot (“ANAD”) between 1978 and 1982, and they wear a light gray Parkerized finish.

The M1911s currently in the CMP’s vault came from two sources: the Army Museum System and the Defense Logistics Agency’s long term strategic reserve. The Army Museum System pistols are crated separate from the DLA guns, and they are mostly Model of 1911s.

Like a previous poster wrote, I also read that there were 3,000 museum prices. I’ll see if I can find the source.

Default rebuilds

At this time we do not know if or where any of the 1911's have been rebuilt.

GCA did a nice video on the Philippine Garands, any chance of a video highlighting the 1911's?

That made me smile. I'm the same way. Good with numbers, not so much with names.
