Getting our forms notorized was going to be a pain in the a$$ so I filled out the forms on the 5th knowing we would have a rare weekday off on the 7th where we could squeeze in a visit to the bank to get the forms notarized. The rest of the required documents are already saved on my computer at work so I just printed them and collated them with the order forms to have the packets all complete.

Now I just have to not lose them in the next 3 months. Lol.

I also took this oportunity to print out 2A from the regular CMP order form and get that notorized for both myself and my wife. I submitted one in 2016 with my Carbine order but since I did not win that lottery it never got entered into the system. As a result the CMP only has one for me from mid 2013. I figured if I’m taking the time to get the 1911 2A notarized it would be stupid not to do both 2As.

My packet is all ready to mail... with a note on it not to mail it early. Now I need a reminder on my calendar so I don't forget in a few weeks.
This is the most exciting release in a long time. Thanks to the CMP for making this happen as I know it will be a lot of headaches for them dealing with us! Many, many thanks!

Gentlemen, if you have followed the Forum you'd know that this isn't RVN 69-70's first rodeo. He was just jerking our chains (see the wink emoticon?) to inject a little humor where too many people are getting too serious.

Good for you, Mr. Jones!

No, my packet isn't ready yet. Maybe next week I'll get to it. My local firearm dealer is ready to fax a copy of his FFL whenever I give him the word, which will probably be next week too.
I hope the CMP doesn't run out of rack-grade pistols before I get to pick. I'd hate to be forced into choosing a field or service grade.

I am glad to have a chance at one,so are the epic 500,000 plus,( for only maybe 90,000 1911's) who will apply for a chance. This will be the biggest turn out ever in CMP' s history.

Steelap - You win the prize and obviously are QUITE observant. Therefore, YOU deserve to go to the head of the line.

Every so often I TRY to be 'cute' and, as you say, inject a little humor but I have been told that I MISS the bullseye some times.............and not JUST when shooting..

Good luck to all..

What we deserve and what we would like to receive are often two different things. To paraphrase Dave Ramsey - "We deserve Justice, and receive Mercy."
