Yes. Plenty of correct barrels on FGs with poor numbers.

My best shooter is a FG with original barrel.

Usually FGs have MW>2.0. I prefer rifles that have MW=1.0 or less. Many find great performance out of these rifles. It's just my personal preferences. I buy SGs for @$100 more, you get much better wood, metal, and bore conditions.

Post war rack grade or field grades are much more likely to have an original barrel than a WWII serial number. Any post war Garand is more likely to have an original barrel than a WWII or of course pre-WWII serial number. That said, it has been argued that a field or rack grade WWII Garand is more likely to have an original barrel than a WWII serial number service grade. WWII serial number Garands with original barrels in service grade condition are rare birds.

Look at it this way. WWII serial number rifles with replacement barrels probably put more rounds down range at bad guys than those with original barrels.

Some new SA barrels come with ME over 1.0 so even a ME of 3+ is a good shooter.

Wednesday, I picked up a Springfield 3.6M FG with the original 4-45 barrel. The rifle is in better than average shape for a FG and the muzzle gauged a 2.0. There may have been others, but I stopped looking when I found mine. Good luck.
