Went to South store to attempt to get a 6Mil, which I did. While there I looked through all the field grades, or at least 90% of them. I felt I got real lucky in that I found a nice 4.29 SA with original 6 of 53 barrel. rifle was in nice condition with a TE = 2 and TE =3. The rifle bore the TE 3-65 Tooele rebuild mark and appeared to not have alot of use after rebuild. I am not sure why it was a field grade, maybe because the chamber was parked. To me that is not a problem as it was done at Tooele when the receiver and barrel were refinished as a unit. I will post pictures in the "Garand" part of this forum.
