How long did they last? Were people buying more than one?

I was not there but a buddy of mine was....6.0Ms are limited to one per customer, are typical SGs: mixmasters, some Greek black receivers.

Now I'll let those who were actually there give more informed reports!

I just got back to work from the CMP SS scoring my 6.0M SA. It is a superb AFPG barreled rifle with a 56 NM barrel (MW<1 TE 2.0). Original finish with original barrel. Typical SG mixmaster with excellent condition parts and aftermarket CMP walnut. All rifles had aftermarket wood. I bought a nice HRA SG with excellent post-war matching USGI walnut stock set to swap.

Arrived 6AM CST and about 16 people already in line. Folks starting lining up last night. Made no difference though as they all looked pretty much the same except for barrels. Actually helped me as I went to the other end of the rack away from the mob and grabbed a rifle. NM barrel MW<1.0 and AFPG markings...took it up to the counter. Rifle will ship today and I'll have it tomorrow morning. Pics forthcoming.

Enjoyed meeting a few folks from the forum. Jim an expert machinist and RIA project manager and two great folks from VA. Had to get back to work so I didn't spend much time. Lots of SA and HRA FGs as well. 7.62 NAT0 B/Rs were in poor shape overall. Smash and grab kind of trip.

Too bad about the receivers... Having second thoughts on my order, but will let it ride.

Why worried about receivers???? Only 1-2 out of 25 had Greek black finish and it was not the overly obnoxious variety. Less than 10%.

Talking about the 7.62 receivers, you said they are "poor"

That is being nice about it.

Also most of the 6.0M SA barrels were NM marked and many were 56 dates. The offering really exceeded my expectations besides the aftermarket walnut which I quickly remedied with another SG purchase. Some nice USGI walnut on the HRAs.

Just wondering if a NM barrel will be more desirable vs a standard barrel on the 6 mils?

Heck yeah....especially a correct 56 NM barrel. Any NM barrel with a pristine bore and MW=1.0 or less is very cool indeed. Many of us are competitive shooters and to think your rifle was purpose built for this enterprise is the reason I woke up at 4AM this morning, had my wife switch work days, and drove 100 MPH back to Emory for a meeting at 1PM. It was a huge hassle, but worth every bit of the trouble.

Also saw a few with pristine LMR 53 barrels.
