Default 6 Million Campout with Pics

Got to CMP South at 2:30 am CST and there were already 4 guys in line. Everyone in line was pleasant especially Jim, Tony, and Stephanie. Stephanie was kind enough to drive to McDonald's & bring some hot coffee to us. 5 1/2 hours later, the doors opened, and everyone went to the rack holding the 6 mil SAs. Nothing like the smell of rifle grease in the morning! The 6 mil SA rack was empty by the end of the day, but there were still a few Kimbers left on the back wall.

Ended up with a 6 mil SA with a NM 3/56 barrel in original finish. Will post photos when it is delivered.

There was a young Marine lieutenant looking for his 1st Garand and the CMP staff helped him find some really nice ones. One of them had lockbars. So it was fitting to see a billboard just outside Anniston with a Marine holding a Garand.

Looks like fun. I am going to have to get to the South Store one of these days. It looks like it is well worth the trip.

Thanks for the pics and I can only imagine what the NS will be like next week

At 8:30 am there was only six or seven of the 6 M rifles left. All with dark Greek finish.

Any chance that these 6m garands will last a week? I cant go this week to the store. Also, if anyone could elaborate more on the 7.62 non sleeved BR's, I would greatly appreciate it. Kimbers same as the ones they had last year? Thx!

Yes on the page, report is the store has sold their 25. Boggy said he was going to the store. Mailing in at this point is a real gamble, but worth a stamp. They could also allot more to the stores.

What about 6M rack or field grades? No one has brought that up yet.. They did the same with the D's and C's

Sheesh....lots of empty racks. Making room for WRAs and IHCs?
