Default A tale of two Winchesters - incl. pics

(Garands that is - although it's a bit of a short tale, I must confess.)

With regards to the recent SG & FG Winchester offerings earlier this year, I put my 'hat in the ring' for each.

The SG was a mixmaster w/ new CMP wood but with an original 1944 bbl.
The FG was a mixmaster except for the Winchester stock.

Individual pics:

So a basic refinished stock set (w/ no remaining cartouches) went on the FG, and the Winchester stock went on the SG.
Plus some of my usual parts-swapping to match park finishes.

I do like the contrasts of the dark stock on the worn/light park, and the lighter stock on the dark-park Garand.

Thanks for looking,
