Default DAS stamp on Oprod

Edit: Never mind. found out that it was something that was not ground off during the finishing process?

I just noticed on the IHC that I just purchased that it has a DAS stamp on the back side of the oprod. I can see it when I am looking down the rifle to give you an idea of where it is.

Anybody ever seen this? This is the first time I have seen this.

Ryan

I had a complete one on the handle of an HRA. It was cool, but not something that I needed to keep. I've seen partials but only the complete marking. I've got a picture somewhere.

Yep, several years ago, 2008,09,10 timeframe ?? there was a number of them that showed up. IIRC they were mostly on the HRA rods. Not really rare but kind of a unique oddity.

They would never grind a DAS off. It was a final approval most probably on some they had issues with or early in the build game that they later stopped. Could be every couple thousand they would pull one and mark it is ok but not all had them and then ground off. Rick B

To the op, is the DAS actually stamped into the metal as was done on barrels, or is it marked on the surface like an ink stamp of sorts.
I've seen DAS examples on gas cylynders with a surface ink stamp.

Photo slide show below is from a post I made here on the "Ask each other forum" a couple of years ago. It includes photos of HRA op rod with DAS. I had sold it here on "Parts for sale forum", but the buyer rejected it, sayin it was a "CMP rebuild". So, it is now on one of my HRAs.

Text from my old post, asking for opinions:
I recently sold this HRA op rod to a forum member. He rejected it, returned it, and I have refunded his payment. He believes the stamp (on the end of the op rod behind the handle) is a CMP rebuild stamp indicating piston and tab rebuild. On questions of authenticity, I refund and don't debate because I feel if a guy thinks it may be fake he will always have questions. This looks like a DAS to me. It came off a service grade SA from CMP. What say you guys, rebuilt by CMP or not?
