What is the going rate for one in decent shape missing the magazine?
A friend has one for sale that he bought in a group of rifles at estate sale. |

If in good shape without the magazine around $250-$275. Now very good to excellent with a magazine $350-$400.

Isn't that the "Jungle Carbine"? As I recall, a number of those were made by commercial manufacturers (i.e. not British Government built). That would affect value significantly.
If I am incorrect let me know and I'll delete this post. |

Yes some were made up using No.4 actions but a real one will be marked as a No.5 Mk1.

Values are climbing slowly $450-650 in prime condition assumes it’s a real JC and not a commercial repro. These have been both commercially produced and faked. The definitive test is to remove the upper hand guard and check for the obvious lightening machining at the barrel/receiver join.

Yelp I've got a Jungle carbine (stamped Golden State Arms on the barrel). The received on a #5 will be noticeably lightened.

PPU has worked well for me, as has the Wolf Military Classic. Some surplus still out there but lots of it is corrosive and suffers from delayed ignition.
