No hit on the 1903, no hit on 1917, it does fall into a long range of shanghai volunteer rifles.

The list is quite vast, theres trapdoors, garands, carbines, 1911s, pretty much whatever the founder could find in the archives. A hit denotes where a rifle was at a particular time, or in some cases of match rifles and sporters, if said serial number was sold as such, and that there may be a record of who it was sold to. Now days you have to subscribe to their newsletter, you can also pay to have them do some back research which may or may not turn up more information.

Examples, 1903s

199511RI 062823 174TH INF NY NG TO RARITAN ARS
178198 022138 BA (RECEIVER TO BE SCRAPPED)

1401880NM 090337 ENGINEER RIFLE TEAM 1937 NM
1401881NM 100533 DCM RIFLE SALES 1922-42

Krags

13324498R 051729 NEW CUMBERLAND GRD (DESTROYED)
13324698R 122198 CO G 4TH ILL VOL INF (DAMAGED)

Trapdoors

92768R 073089 RIA MUSEUM ACC 5933 (INDIAN GUN)

The DCM sales rifle has the best chance of having a sales slip turn up.

Thanks for the lookup. All of those serial numbers were October 1918 and later.

Perhaps they never shipped to Europe since the Great War was over and then went on to see service in the SVC?

Bought mine from a guy that bought it from the South Store in 2010. Maybe it was a return after the SVC dis-established in 1941 or 1942.

Interesting enough to do some more reading. Thanks again!
