Default Taurus Settlement

Is anyone else here part of the Taurus Settlement?

Today is the first day to submit a claim. I went online, entered my s/n, watched the mandatory safety video and at the end of the video received my return code.

Next step is select an FFL for your return which their system auto-populates with the FFL information.

Final step is to print the FedEx label and at that point the system locked, said the postal code they auto-populated for me was not in the correct format and the system locked me out.

I have waited this long. Might as well wait a little longer while they fix their software.

Ugh.

Had to look this up, I think mine is not affected by this by looking at the verbage. Mine is a PT111 Millennium G2 made in 2013.

I haven't heard about all this. I bought a PT 1911 AR from a friend a number of years ago. Is this model included? Love the gun.

According to the information I found, below is a list of the affected weapons. Furthermore the verbage states G2's are not affected by the recall/settlement.

PT-111 Millennium
PT-132 Millennium
PT-138 Millennium
PT-140 Millennium
PT-145 Millennium
PT-745 Millennium
PT-609
PT-640
PT-24/7


Taurus is required to do the following due to the settlement:

Provide an enhanced, lifetime warranty on the covered pistols that will allow owners to submit a claim at any time.Taurus will pay shipping as the covered pistol is sent to the Miami facility to be repaired or replaced. Pistols that cannot be repaired will be replaced with similar new pistols. At this time, the safety defects cannot be repaired and all pistols submitted will be replaced with a new Taurus G2 pistol, which has a mechanism designed to prevent unintended discharges.

Or

Allow owners to exchange their pistols for a cash payment rather than replacing them. The value depends on how many owners return their pistols. Those who chose this option will have a limited time to make a claim. This will be set out on the settlement website when the claim period begins.

Update:

I returned my 24/7 .40 S & W to Taurus as instructed which they received on 10/18. I waited until today to check their website for a status update and received an error saying my S/N or Zip Code was incorrect, please call.

After being on hold for over 75 minutes, the rep. told me the website error was intentional i.e. everyone returning a pistol had to call them directly for an update.

When pressed, he also stated, unofficially, that each pistol would be thoroughly checked, but since there is currently not a "fix', their default position would be to send a replacement PT111 G2 9mm as a replacement.

The PT111 G2 is currently selling for around $199 and I already own one, which I like a lot. Not sure if I will keep the second one or not, assuming that is what I am offered.

Just saw this thread. We have one of these. Can someone post the recall link as I can not find it and am getting a tad bit frustrated over it. lol

Did find that one, but since it wasn't a Taurus page I discounted it. Thanks for the re-direct, just what I needed.
