    New 513T value

I came across a new 513T at a LGS and wanted $475. The serial number that I can remember is around 157,XXX and has the tip off rails for a scope. I know this is a late one and man does it look beautiful w/o a mark on it from what I could see. It has the original magazine as well. It does not come with any sights or posts. On the front sight it had a dovetail that was covered by a piece that looked like it can be removed for a sight install....maybe a plug?? I never seen that, but did look like it came from the factory like that. EDIT: The bolt Matbe blued and had the rainbow tint to it as a torch was used to bend it from the factory. The stock was a light colored walnut and flawless.

I had to look twice at it as I thought it was refinished. I wish I could have taken some pics, but they were closing and didn’t want to irritate the owner since they were not supposed to be open that day and was nice enough to let me look around.

    Any inputs would be appreciated

Sounds nice, another $100 or so for Redfield #75 sight and front ramp. They pop up here in the $500-600 range with sights, US Property Stamp, There is one here at a LGS for $650 with Redfield international sights.
They are quite accurate and fun to shoot.

I have an early one that shoots well and I see them quite often.

But I never seen any that is new or like new in mint condition. Not sure if anyone has seen one in this condition lately and what it would be worth?

If I got it, I probably would not shoot it lol

Need to check the barrel date code. The grooving may be aftermarket, and the whole rifle may be refinished.
A few variations on the black-cat-in-a-dark-room analogy:
        1. Philosophy is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat.
        2. Metaphysics is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat that isn't there.
        3. Under Marxism, it's like being in a dark room, looking for a black cat that isn't there, and the State announces, "We found it!"

These are the pics that came out, others did not, especially the barrel code

I think this is about as good as it gets for a late 513T

That is a great looking 513T at a steal it price. Would certainly buy it for $475.00 and do it quick if I were you.

I called back to the store and he missed quoted me and said it was 575, still a good price in my book.

Bob nice rifle, what serial# range was yours?

I love mine. I'm still trying to find sights and/or a scope mount for it. I am a bit envious of how good all the ones in this thread look. Mines parkerized and the wood has a huge rack number painted on the side. It is cool that it was a military trainer but that makes it a PITA for scope mounts and so on.

The one I have, had the reciever D&T. I got a great deal for it is it is a shooter. I wished the one I’m looking at came with the sights.

So did you end up purchasing it? Looks like a nice rifle.

It was an excellent rifle, looked new. I had to pass due to many projects I have going on. I’ll regret it later maybe.

Someone else picked it up yesterday I believe.
