Hey - my latest update and all of a sudden it says I'm not registered. I seem to have misplaced my registration code, any help? Thanks!

Yeah, there's an issue with latest version, which I've pulled, that caused settings to not be retrieved. PM me your name and email so I can pull up your key and I'll send it out to you again.

In regards to losing the registration (and custom database location if it was set):

It appears Adobe released a new version of AIR, 3.4, that handles the Encrypted Local Storage system differently and that caused settings to not be retrieved. It was not actually caused by my code -- nothing like manually looking through 25000 lines of code for a bug that doesn't exist!

Through testing we determined that you should be able to downgrade AIR to 3.3 from 3.4 and have everything back -- Please download the Windows version here: http://download.macromedia.com/air/w...RInstaller.exe or the

OSX version here: http://download.macromedia.com/air/m...3/AdobeAIR.dmg

I already have a system ready to make it so that the settings will be stored in a preference file instead in the future, but it wasn't in place yet because we didn't know about this upcoming change. I do apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Wow, I should have been checking this forum. The Adobe Air 'update' killed MyGunDB for me today. I cannot seem to downgrade AIR. It says (I just used the link in the above post) that a more recent version of AIR is already installed on my system (duh!). I shall keep trying.

EDIT: Happily, I still have my registration code email, so in the mean time I'll try 're-'registering and restoring the database from a backup (it also gave me a new (empty) database file).

EDIT #2: Okay, this isn't working so well. If I open the 'settings,' I can never close that sub-window. Also, restoring my database doesn't appear to be working. Are others having this issue? Win7 64-bit.

You need to uninstall AIR 3.4 first, then install 3.3 from the link, that's all. That will fix all those issues.

I'm finishing up the code now that will prevent it from happening again -- I'll release later tonight.

No no, actually a number of people had the same issue. It's my bad for not being explicit. When I give step by step instructions, they should include all the steps.

I hate that I actually just said "my bad".

I love the DB, looks alot better than my excel spreadsheet I was using.

I do have a suggestion not sure if its been brought up before.

I would like to see a dedicated area to parts/accessories that is not attached to a firearm. Not sure if this already in and I have missed it.

I have a lot of spare parts/barrels/scopes that do not have guns. I would like a place to keep them organized so I know what my total firearms related items are worth.

Thanks for the great DB, can't wait to add more guns to it

On the Accessories tab, the Unattached section is for that -- accessories not specific to a firearm. You can swap items between being unattached and attached to a specific firearm easily there. Hope that's what you meant!
