Default 1903a4 bolt problem

Hello recently bought an apparently homemade 1903a4 "sniper" in good shape at nearby gun shop--l I just fired an apparently over-reloaded brass case that failed -- about 25% of the brass rim is gone but when it went about the same amount of the steel rim of the bolt face went as well. Can the bolt handle be salvaged and welled onto another bolt or should I get a Gun Parts Corp special OR???. Thanks

#1 I would have the head spaced checked and look the gun over real good.
you may have bigger problems .

the bolt handle can be cut off and rewelded but it will cost the same as having another bolt done or just get one of the turned down from gunparts.

What's your budget? Wide range of modified bolts out there.

Just get another bolt body, and check head space. Replace barrel if it won't. Make the new handle look like the old one for scope clearance.

Ditto with the headspace. Sometimes the receiver lugs that interface with the bolt lugs could be compromised due to excessive breech pressure.
