Default IHC Gap Letter

The IHC listed Monday has a GI stock with a P firing proof but no DOD stamp. Anyone know why it would have one but not the other?

There are a lot of IHC stocks out there without the DOD because they were heavily sanded at one point during their life. Some have very faint stamps left. A Lot of IHC stocks also seem to be beat up pretty bad.

Most likely sanded or worn off over time

You know...out of curiosity...My IHC stock is correct with the correct Julian date inside...but it's friggin horrendous around where the DOD stamp should be...instead what looks like someone "etched" a square with a bent paperclip...and the stars/eagle are missing. If I was to at least smooth that out and restore the stock to a better look...I bet it would actually "help" that rifle. But...I'm kinda a purist when I get them that's how they are. I've one or two lesser milsurps and never really liked the outcome unfortunately...I'm blabbering...and going to check out the auction.

I feel the same way "I'm a purist when I get them that's how they are".

I've got a Postwar SA stock that has a strong DoD stamp as it looks like someone was bored at some point and traced it with the point of a knife...
