Well it has definitely been rebuilt with a new barrel and the stock was sanded-and maybe replaced. Parkerized bands.

The RRA mark behind the bolt is my clue. It's pretty fresh over the sanding.

Enlighten me please.

Not anywhere near a military issue sniper or even a bad clone, the following is submitted for your consideration (and deletion if a moderator desires): A 1903 nickel steel action bought years ago (from a company I can’t remember the name of) with a Douglas premium barrel in 7mm Remington magnum installed, a Pachmayr “Swing-Away” scope mount (I couldn’t bear to have a scope mount covering the receiver ring and I had plans to put iron sights on it) with a Weaver V9-II Microtrak, mounted in a Fajen #3 Fancy walnut stock with myrtlewood end-caps……..

(A gunsmith (actually a putterer) did most of the work - I did the stock inletting and finishing).

It’s been a long time since I seen a scope mount like that when I was a youngster if I remember correctly they used to call them tip off scope mount .

Thanks for the comments! I’ve heard the phrase “tip off” but I distinctly remember Pachmayr referring to that mount as a “swing away”…

Good morning. Some pictures to keep this wonderful thread alive!

Some shots taken with my M1903A1/Unertl sniper replica, during zeroing. Notice the two previous groups have been pasted and adjustments were being made.

Well I am glad that you shared us with the pictures and she is sure holding a tight group
Had to work last Saturday and will also the next 2
My m73b1 gave up on me and I have substituted this M84 till I can find a place that will do a good job rebuild and having it reblued

We found some public land that we can shoot out to 1,000 yards my goal is to start at 300 and maybe if my eyes are good enough push it to 600
We shall see in 3 weeks until then just some old pictures to add
