Oh I know. I've already bought a roll of 300 ORM-D stickers.

Has anyone bought boxes from the UPS store or homedepot that work well? I think Homedepot sells and extra small one.

Make yourself a free account on UPS or FedEx, shipping is usually a little discounted and you print the label at home. Plus you have all your history saved.

Yes, as mentioned you have to ship from a hub. The stores won't take it.

I have recently purchased ammo off this forum. The cans were in boxes, with pieces of cardboard to pad them to the size of the box. One person shipped each 30 cal can separately, the other sent the two cans on one box.

I am not sure of the weights, as the individual cans had more rounds the the single box of two cans.

In the cans, the ammo was in a heavy plastic bag, like CMP used. The bag added padding to keep the rounds from rattling around.

if you are selling a bit of ammo,

get a scale, they can be had off amazon or ebay cheap,

create an account, both UPS AND(!) FedEx,
sometimes one will be cheaper than the other, use the lesser of the 2,

be sure to check residential, it matters in price (more) that business, and if you don't, and it is a residential address, they will bill you for it,

some states require or localities require signature required, it's usually a good thing to do regardless

only ship Ground,

NEVER take a package of ammo to a UPS Store,
they will freak completely out ,
take it to a hub, or have a scheduled pickup (cost ~$4extra)

most FedEx/Kinko's are considered drop off points, and don't care about ORM-D, never had an issue dropping it off at a FedEx location

be sure to send the buyer the tracking via email (you can have either carrier do it for you) and check the boxes for ship/exemption/delivery,
(I typically put my email address in as well, but only click exemption and delivery)
putting the buyers phone number in as well is not a bad idea, incase they need to contact him for anything

and be sure package and tape securely,

remember the old samsonite commercial with the chimps handling luggage,,,, a good box (buy off uline, amazon, or scrounge them) and good tape will prevent hassles,

Here is a link to a thread on shipping ammunition note you cannot ship from a store or commercial site, I have to go to the shipping site 30 minutes away.

UPS gas a new Flat rate box now. Anyone know anything about it? I am going to guess they are going to disallow ammo in them anyway?
