Default new Carbine with questions

Hi all. I just purchased an carbine recently and had time to break it down and check all the parts with Reisch's book. The carbine was labeled as an all original 1943 Inland.

The operating slide looks like a type II with the partial arc on the rear of it. But when I look in the slide well I don't see any markings. I think that I can make out a PI but not very sharp lettering. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time!

Sounds about right...Inland PI stamps are pretty light and if its been reparked a time or two can be hard to see.

Yeah, the markings on some were very light. The "W" for Winchester is almost lost on some of them. Also be sure all the carbon is cleaned out. I've found some that covered the best of the stamps and was hard as nails to get out.

Share some photos when you get the chance. Otherwise we won't believe you have one.
