Default Help ... Having issue with MVP ignition

Have a .5.56/223 MVP bolt action that fails to fire on several rounds. Appears to be a problem shared by others. I was advised to use ammo with softer primers (???). Any suggestions on what commercial ammunition that may be made this way? Surplus 5.56 primers appear harder (???) Your suggestions

Most any commercial ammo have primers that are softer than military ammo. Try Federal, Remington or Winchester. Eddie

Tony,
If this is a new rifle you may want to give Mossberg a call. A new modern firearm should be able to use all ammunition, commercial and military. If it is a used rifle you should get the head space, firing pin and spring checked. Regards, Eddie

Try taking apart the bolt and cleaning the firing pin and firing pin channel. It's not unreasonable to think some preservative grease from the factory is stuck in there causing light strikes. Also see if Wolff makes a new spring for it

Thank you. A friend at range said grease in pin channel happened to another MVP Patrol owner. Contacted Mossberg and advised to adjust trigger screw.
