Default How do you ship ammo?

What is the best way to ship heavy cans of ammo? I have a significant amount of 30 06, 7.62 NATO, 5.56 NATO that I want to list on the for sale page but I have never shipped ammo before. When you ship it, what carrier do you use and do you put the ammo can in a cardboard box?

UPS or Federal Express. But make sure the packages are marked with the ORM-D labels. You can down load these.

UPS or Fed Ex. Yes, you need to have the cans in a tight cardboard box. Like the CMP shipped their ammo.

And the label too.

Most local shippers will not ship ammo, you might have to go to a hub. My problem is the hubs are too far away for me.

Don't even try with USPS, could cause problems.

You can give the ammo to a driver or schedule a pickup.

When you estimate shipping cost, is it the cost of ground shipping or do the add a hazard fee as well?

No hazard fee for loaded ammo.

Wow this isn't gong to be so bad! I don't know why I was so afraid to ship ammo.

Are there websites out there that sell cardboard boxes that fit 30 cal and 50 cal cans easily?

Oh nice! That is funny how it says "Brake Pads" and "Toner" on the box.

Nice boxes, but I wouldn't mislabel the contents. That could get you in big trouble. Ammo is 100% acceptable to ship as others have noted. Just affix the ORM-D labels and it ships based on weight and volume like any other item. No special charges or haz-mat fees.
