I signed up for the GCA last weekend but don't have my membership stuff yet. If I go back to the store can I just take my copy of the filled out membership form as proof?

Thanks.

They are pretty liberal about the GCA. They have a way of checking membership. They did for me. Below is e-mail exchange

Mr.xxxxxx,

You are listed in the GCA database as a member expiring in August 2013. I was not able to enter this into the system yet since you do not have an account, but you can show this email if there are any problems.

Thank you,

Subject: GCA card needed? Or membership on file with the CMP enough?

Hello

Back a few months ago I joined the Garand Collections Association (GCA). They sent me a card and according to their website they notified you of my membership and all the other members that joined them.

I have a problem. I am planing on coming to your Ohio store to buy a few Garands but I left my card at my home in Texas (I am now in Iowa). I have everything else with me, driver's license and birth certificate to buy a rifle.

Can you check my membership on the information the GCA sent you? My name is David xxxxxxx of xxxxxxxxxx Will this satisfy the requirement to provide proof of having membership in a CMP affiliate organization?

This will save me many hundreds of extra miles of driving. I would hate to drive to Camp Perry (700 miles) and be told I needed the card.

Thank you

xxxxxxxxx

Thanks, that sure makes me feel a lot better before driving 10 hours today and wondering all the way up there. Sure wish there would be other grades to look over just for fun but the SGS is what I'm wanting for our first Garand.

My first trip to any CMP store, I'll post more later tonight when I return home.

Orest has said in another thread "we have nothing to send" regarding more SG and FG coming to North store during the matches.

Tears in deed.

Actually, they have them but won't send them. They are all going to fill mail orders.
