I have two sets of DAS stamps in my collection. One has square boxes and the other has round. Both sets include 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2". These are original GI acceptance stamps. I agree that round stamps were not used on firearms with the exception of the 1/8" round stamp found on some Winchester M14 stocks at the rear trigger pads. My inclination is that the round stamp on this NM stock was not original as the OP said. However the eagle does look genuine as far as stamps go. I have a M14 NM stock that has a 3/8" square DAS, which, like this one was probably added by an owner at some point.
