Default 1903 Rock Island Markings

Am looking at an 1918 Rock Island 1903. It has an arsenal rebuild marking of RA/WIE. I think this is Remington post WW2 rebuild marking but can't find any references in the literature regarding the WIE. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, during manufacture in WW1, did RockIsland mark their stocks in 1918?

I'd like to see a picture of the marking you describe.

1918 RIAs were marked with a variety of inspector's initials, usually with a "1918" or "1919" underneath.

If I recall those made early-on in WWI had a number or number and letter instead of the usual inspector's initials.
