Default Advice requested on various .22 target rifles

I like the challenge of .22 matches. The M44 US is a good start, but Iím in the market for another. Iím considering the Kimber 82, Rem 40x, 541, 513t, H & R model 12 and Winchester 52. Price IS a factor ($600 ish).

I know they are all good. Any preferences of one over the other? Are there other target rifles I should consider?

Any advice is appreciated!

Josh

I,have a 513t it will hold the 10 ring of a SR 1 shooting prone with wolf match , SK standard plus . I like it but the trigger kinda sucks. I don't mind so much as most of the rifles I shoot for score require 4.5lb triggers

Kimber 82 is also a good choice, pretty good trigger that can be easily adjusted

Does the North Store have any more Kimber 82's or are they long gone?
Just a thought since they are close to you.

I think the only rifles offered are commercial.

I canít explain this .22 bug because I shoot the crap out of my Garand and MIA.

Easy explanation: Can shoot all day and still afford dinner out.

And thereís that explanation. Looks like the Kimber 82 G is a winner. Now to shoot the crap out of that.

Have any of you put globe sights on a M44US? Recommendations and how did they perform?

In the price range you mention (600ish) I would imagine the 40X and 52 are out of the picture. I would love to find either one in that price range. In that range I would definitely go with a Kimber 82G. Even these usually bring a little more than that.

I’m going with the Kimber.

Now to convince the guys in my club to hold regular .22 matches!
