What the heck, I'll show another of mine.

This is one I rescued from a rusty old mix master field grade. Came with the Dupage hackberry stock.

It was my first real learning experience into the M1. I learned how to parkerize and headspace on this one. "Corrected" the parts of this 1.83m and bought a Dupage walnut stock and finished it myself.

The barrel is new and accurate. Shoots 2.3moa at 100 yards, using open sights.

I will admit my sins with this one:

1) I had the stock stamp reproduced, and the word "repro" now adorns the barrel channel of the stock
2) I wanted the look of a lead-dipped receiver, so I verified the serial range and dipped it in Caswell's Blackener
3) I used a lot of repro parts

My recent CMP Service Grade (with sticky for "USGI stock if possible"). March 1943 SA with 1955 SA barrel (Throat 2 Muzzle 1)

THe last photo is 8 rounds (yes there is a double in there) at 100 yards off a sandbag using 1968 Greek HXP ball.

Delivered 7/8/2019. CMP SPecial Grade IHC. Shows as sold out on website but sometimes it pays to call and ask!!

FYI. Only thing IHC on this rifle was the receiver.

Before I placed the order I looked for examples of "receiver pitting" on the recent CMP IHC purchases and found a lot of words and no pictures. I just received my IHC Special Grade on Monday and it had what I'd consider "minor pitting" which is to be expected given the description on the website says in bold "Receiver may have pitting".

Here is what I received. The pitting on the heel could be mistaken as a casting void however when y0u look at the heel you can see that the right hand corner has been ground down and sanded before the refinish. THe mark behind the bolt is interesting because it is very sharp and looks like somebody hit the receiver with a sharp punch like a staking punch. the edge of the hole is actually raised above the level of the surrounding receiver.

Given that I ordered a rifle with a description of "receiver may have pitting" I am fine with what I got. THere is also no other pitting on the receiver.

Just got these in today.
Service grade has a CMP stock but everything else is in exc. shape. It's a 1.5 serial with a 6-43 barrel date. If it wasn't for the barrel I would say this was a select grade.

The other is a field but no pitting though. 1.6 serial with a 5-43 barrel.

This is my first M1 which I recieved last August. I couldnít believe it when I saw how early this rifle was. Sending in my next order this week for another service grade and Iím thinking about either a field grade special or a service grade special after that.

Recent svc grades recieved # 1097424, this is 1 of 2 rifles. I'm still working on the first one.
12/ 42 with 01/52 SA barrel. Cleaned up pretty good, came with new cmp stock which I refinished, narrow base SA gas cylinder, 18 SA bolt, and a X stamped IHC op rod catch. I wanted to snap a couple pics before dark. I believe it's original finish, but not too sure? Njoy, Rich
