Default Gas Cylinders

Whatever happened to the guy up north that had crates of gas cylinders.

Think his name was John

I beleive he passed away a couple years ago

You are correct. His name was John Robertson. He lived in the Vancouver area. A short message about his passing was posted on the Culver Shooting Page when he died. I would occasionally swap emails with John and he sent me some of the most hilarious videos. I kick myself for not going up to British Columbia and attaching a face to the man I knew by postings and emails.

John Stuart Robertson May 8, 1942 - August 2, 2014 With great sadness we announce John's passing. He is survived by his wife, Hermi Lai Lin Robertson. John was born in Kirkland Lake, ON. At age of 4, John moved to Argentina. At 15, returned to Canada. Joined Canadian Army Reserve in the same year. Graduated from McGill University in 1963. Served (drafted) to the Rodesian Miltary in 1974 for 18 mos. while working in South Africa. Returned to Canada in 1978. Worked as self-employed mining engineer specializing in mine dewatering & pumps application.

Same here. Had a number of email exchanges with John and some were pretty wild.

He had access to quite a bit of the M1 Garand returns that landed in Montreal (Century Arms?) as well as at a big dealer in Canada.

If I remember correctly he has some access to the South Korean storage of M1 Carbines and Garand but it's been quite some time to memory might be off on that.

Going by his emails it sounded like his father was involved in the mining industry in some capacity.

Very interesting guy. And wonder if the jouster2 site has anything archived?
