Default rare stuff

Waffle mags were not that difficult to find years ago, remember when the AR10 waffles were selling for $10 to $20 ea. I would consider the CAR 15 or XM607 stock to be quite rare and the green/brown fiber color furniture is also very difficult but not as rare. On the small parts, I would consider finding the early bolt catch as rare and only found a few plus the carbon steel gas tube.

WhIle early bolt catches can be hard to locate, try finding a transitional bolt catch. When/if you do be prepared to shell out $300. Your 607 stock is cool 7.62. Your right.....M16 waffle mags aren't that hard to find but they sure ain't cheap.

Different than the catch on a 601. Here is a picture of a very, very early 604 build that I did but parted out recently. You can see the serrations at the bottom of the catch. These were only found on very, very early 604's, the earliest XM16E1's and maybe the last of the 602's. This one is a repro and you can get them from John Thomas at retro arms works. I felt bad shelling out $120 for an original 601 bolt catch for my 602 build. My 604 was all original including a M VP 12 barrel with a cast FSB and early contour upper, Type D handguards (no drain holes), edgewater buffer, C stock, etc.
