Default North Store Purchases

With the exception of the M1 Carbine and the 1911A1 (and my medals) I purchased the M1 Garands and Bayonets at the NS. Three of the Garands are Springfield: SN# 1568XXX, 5860XXX, 5874XXX, and the fourth is HRA SN# 4797XXX. The M1 Carbine is a National Postal Meter: SN# 4308XXX. (Rifle a friend gave me years ago before he passed)

Nice collections. Gorgeous lumbers on the bottom and top. What stocks are those?

Those are some beautiful rifles, sergeant major, but the most impressive thing in the photo are those medals - I never served, but I know what the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Legion of Merit (if I'm recognizing it correctly) mean.

Thank you.

Top is original to the HRA, and the bottom is original to the Springfield. All are SG hand picked at the NS over the last year; they cleaned up nicely. You are correct on the medals, all earned during my Vietnam tours, except the LOM which I got upon my retirement after 27 years of service.

Thank you for your comments. I have been trying to match the wood on the 3rd SA M1 down, the front hand guard is different wood than the stock. Got it that way from CMP. I'm still looking, gun shows, ebay, etc.

Thank you for your service. I can think of nobody who can better take care of that stable of M1s.
