Default Remington 1917

I just picked up a nice 1917 but it looks like all the metal was lightly sand blasted and refinished , no stock markings, Iwas wondering if they were ever
arsonal refinished this way?

Yes. Dull matte park refinish is common.

Many were refurbished and used during WWII for training purposes or sent to our allies. Many had replacement barrels from JA.

Yes...Sounds like a WW2 rework as stated.... They were parked over the blue and stocks sanded...
