Default Fn 1961 .30-06?

Anyone familiar with this ammo? Headstamp is FN 61. Came in an ammo can that the previous owner wrote on. Says that it is Berdan primed, 147 gr, Non corrosive. Can anyone confirm this?

Can't find anything online about this.

It's my understanding that anything after November 1958 would be non corrosive. Alas I have about 2000 rounds of 1957 FN in 20 round boxes. Have never tried it so take it for what it's worth.

Wish I had that problem!

I got into the gun game early in age (15) but still not early enough for cheap ammo!

To test you can pull down a round and test the the primer on bright steel. There are how-tos on the web.

Good guess would be that it is non-corrosive.

1961, F.N. 30-06 ammunition is non-corrosive and berdan primed. Very Good ammo.
