Exclamation

Gentlemen,
We have allowed this thread in order to facilitate facts/knowledge on the potential sale of 1911s (though 90%+ of the posts are pure speculation/conjecturating).

The topic is political enough in itself; however, posts/comments of a specific political nature will be removed w/o notice as per Forum rules/requirements.
Same with posts that hi-jack or de-rail the thread from the intent of providing info/updates specific to the 1911 topic.
Thanks for your support and understanding.

Thanks Red!
Tough job, but just imagine what will happen when the Board and Lawyers have finished their work, and have a definitive statement to make.

Keep up the good work, you have much more patience than I have.

As I understand it-It is happening as we speak- CMP will sell 10k a year til gone- question will be - how much can you afford- depending on grade-rare ones to auction- will take about 12-18 months and some will be drooling on their 1911A1. http://www.wvtm13.com/news/Rogers-pr...stols/32720294 per Senator Rogers and signed document -

From the CMP sales page:

11/30/15 An update on the 1911s

The NDAA 2016 has been signed into law, and we have no further information concerning the status of the 1911s at this time.

Thank you,
Mark Johnson

From this thread, Post no. 118, Mark Johnson posted 11/30/15, 2:11 PM (my red color):
"The NDAA 2016 did pass and was signed by the President. If we receive 1911s we will sell them in accordance with the law. We have no further information concerning 1911s at this time."

Default How about the selling of the Beretta M9 pistols ??

Hello from North Texas !!!!

I see the news is great about the possible sale of Army surplus 1911 .45 autos.

However, does anyone know about the Marine Corps getting rid of there Beretta M9's and replacing them with NEW production .45's

So...............with that possibly happening, anyone know if the M9's will also hit the sales floor ????

I, like everyone else would like to get 1 of each as original USGI provence.

Any information ???

When I got the CMP email I thought there was going to be some new information.

Sounds like a lot of people bugging them about it.

The bill that was just signed into law is very specific on this point - only surplus M1911 and M1911A1 .45 pistols are allowed under the new program. If there will ever be any sales of M9 pistols (or any other surplus handguns) thru CMP, it would take yet again another charter change (just as with this one) that would have to pass Congress AND be approved by the President.

In addition to the fact of being handguns (which is bad enough in the eyes of some lawmakers), M9s have the additional problem of 15-round magazines (I call them "standard" capacity). Some people view such magazines as evil too...getting the M1911s authorized was hard enough as it is...so, I'm not holding my breath...

Dear CMP,

I would like a M1 Rifle, a M1911/A1, a M9 and a phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range. Maybe, I should call/email and see when those will be available.

I jest! Good morning everyone!!

Thanks to the CMP for all you do and all you put up with!
