I am a retired military Vet, new to M1 Garand and new to forum. I am from VT. I am interested in the M1, reloading for the M1... and anything relating to M1. I have a 1953 SA, 1943 made, mostly seems period correct except for HRA barrel made in 50s. I want to learn from the knowledge of you guys...and gals, about my Garand and reloading. Little commercially available here for ammo, components, etc. I would love to find reasonably priced Hornady Book. A rare book in VT 😁.

Hey Buckholler, good to hear a fellow Garander is in the area. I know Fletcher area, and go up to Fairfax Guns every once in awhile. He is a great guy there. Yah, we have slim pickings when it comes to reloading stuff . I was fortunate that May brother-in-law from CA mailed me a used set of his small base RCBS dies he had. Then I scoured through Powderhorn and found Hornady 125 gr HP bullets. A friend gave me used brass and I have a few powder options. Things have gradually come together. I am looking for a used (or new) Hornady reload manual. Joined here to learn and pick up some technical knowledge.

I live about maybe 10 mins or less from Fairfax Guns. He's worked on my son's 30-30. Good guy.
Well it looks that your better off than me. I have a lot of reloading stuff for 45 and 223, but nothing other than dies for 30-06 or any larger rifle cals. |

Welcome and Thank you for your service to Our Country. If you want to shoot in CMP games the New England games at Camp Ethan Allen are great. Good people and fantastic ranges. Regards, Eddie
