Default CMP Custom Shop Offering 1911 Work in the Future?

I went back 20 pages and didn't see this posted, unless I just missed it.

Will the CMP Custom Shop be offering 1911 work in the future?

Their rifle work is awesome, to say the least.

Glynn,
I will reach out to the Custom Shop folks to see if they intend to do so. One sticking point I can see up front is the FFL requirement on both ends for a pistol, and the shop does not have their own FFL, so may be a limfac. Either way, I’ll pose the question.

Rob,

Thanks for the quick response. I forgot that handguns have a slightly different FFL requirement. Hopefully that can be resolved quickly.

IMHO, this would be another revenue-generating opportunity for CMP, but more importantly, it would provide CMP customers needed and / or desired work on historical military handguns by honest, qualified people. I am completely satisfied by some work the Custom Shop did on a M1903A4 for me a few years ago, so I promote them whenever the opportunity presents itself.
