Unless the sum of the parts is greater than the whole, I’d pass. To me, that’s a problem that’s not going to get better. There are IHCs, if that’s what you want, available for less than the cost of the future “woulda, coulda, shoulda”.

Assuming that it is otherwise legal to own (and I ain't real sure about that), I would certainly check to make sure it is not a welded up receiver from two separate halves.

Yeah it sent red flags when all the pictures never included the heel , Then it was kinda brought up as "Very unique feature" After that it was over with.

Yes, can't think of a GOOD reason why someone would do that.

Ok, just throwing this out there. Not seeing this gun is a big factor, but, since it has both early and late features, could this be a captured gun that was pressed into service by the enemy (North Koreans) which would account for the missing serial and manufacturer and then recaptured later by the South Koreans and then shipped over with the "Blue Sky" era in the 80's?
The only reason I would put this out there is because I had a friend of mine who came into the possession of a North Korean SKS from a legit Korean war veteran who brought this back with him, which there where only 38 known examples in the U.S. well, now 39, and this had a "star" stamped on the receiver cover also.
I'm not saying this is the case, just throwing it out there, more pics would tell the whole story.
Footnote: This SKS was verified as manufactured by the North Koreans and sold for 3200.00 on Gunbroker.

story.

I have seen a lot of receivers, but I have never seen one like the one you picture. I would listen to the more knowledgeable posters here and stay away from it.

I have a M1 Garand and a M1 Carbine from that era, both are Import marked and neither are "scrubbed" in any way.
