Here she is, "Field Grade" M1C. I finally have one of the rifles that's the exception to the standard. It's a pretty nice rifle. https://imgur.com/gallery/HDcFrdR

If someone could help me post individual pictures to here from Imgur I will but until then this is the only way I know.

Default Winchester M1D

Here she is all complete. Winchester M1D. Receiver is from late 43 with the rebuild and conversion happening around mid 52. Proud to say that all parts on this rifle are USGI and there are no repro parts. Parts for these things are getting hard to find and stupid in price. Sling date matches to the cheek pad. The bore is a mirror and the MW is less than 1. Lockup is tight so she should be a sweet shooter. She was reparkerized by Shuff as she had the Greek black finish on her and she’s beautiful now.

Default M1D gets a new CMP stock.

Thought I would experimrnt with some Lincoln Leather Dye and try to match my original GI stock. I used Lincoln Dark Brown and added a little Fiebings Dark Brown (1/4) to try to get a little more red. Fiebings Mohogany also adds red color if you need/want more red.

Everything in the pictures is finished with Raw Linseed Oil. many coats over a period of time.

Original stock is under the rifle that is wearing the new CMP stock.

Is there some board rule that says one cannot use image tags on the forum? Every time I see reference of pics they are always a link one has to open. Why not have them pop up in the posts?

Since images aren’t actually hosted on the forum a couple things have to take place like using an actual link to the picture and be using the right browser. I find that most images come up as you said when I am using Firefox, not so much using safari. I cannot speak on the behalf of anything other than what I use with all my Apple products.

Troy,
No there is not.
I checked your profile and you do not have the “Show Images” option enabled in your User Control Panel...

1. Click on “User CP” (far left in blue header bar at top of page)
2. Scroll down to “Thread Display Options”
3. Make sure “Show Images” is checked

This wil enable you to see the pics directly in the thread...
