Default Springtube Rock-Ola From RTI

I ordered a Very Good-Excellent Rock-Ola from RTI about a month ago and finally was able to take it home. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the serial number on the shipping notice. 1,665,XXX! One of the first few thousand Rock-Ola made!

This is my first M1 Carbine (but I couldn't resist ordering a flip sight Underwood from RTI soon after getting this). Took it apart, gave it a nice cleaning and oiling and tried to ID some parts. Definitely a mix-master, but I was happy to find it was indeed a springtube and no cracks on the high-wood stock. Surprisingly, it has 3 different P's stamped on it and yet they never milled down the OI high-wood (I'm definitely happy they didn't). The rest is a mix of Inland, SG, and others which don't tell much of a story aside from a rebuild.

It's in decent condition and while I'd prefer it to not have an import stamp on the 1-43 Rock-Ola barrel, I'll take a springtube any day of the week!

I have a type 2 OI on a Saginaw Gear, which is correct for the gun I believe. It also missed a rebuild and a cut-down. Mine might be a tad better looking, but it’s not much of a doubt mine and yours probably made at least one beach-landing.
