Make sure the Boyt 44 holster is for a 1911 and not a Victory revolver. The large frame 45 will not fit into the 38 holster. Boyt made both types.

There's a good reason for that:

While the actual formula is a closely guarded secret, it is based on a vegetable grade lubricant similar to Vaseline with the addition of various natural waxes including bees wax.

I have stretched WW2 45 holsters with plain cold water. Just soaked the holster then 2 or 3 plastic bag a 1911 and slowly force into holster, close flap and let air dry. Water treatment will let leather dry with all original patina and will not change leather color.

I had an old WW2 holster that had verdigris (the green stuff that grows where the brass pieces connect to the leather) so badly that it pushed the brass button that holds the flap out of its hole. The butt end of the button was so far out that it created a bump obstructing the pistol from going in. Check to see if thatís whatís occurring.
