Has a blued milled trigger if you can see in the pictures. Not sure what that means but I like the look!

Looks as though the frame and the slide are Remington Rand. The only thing that throws me a bit is the last digit of the serial number. The 4 looks different from the other numerals and is a different style from the one on my Remington Rand. It could be explained since your pistol is toward the start of Remington Rand production and mine is from the last month of Remington Rand production.

Otherwise, it is a nice looking pistol. Maybe someone else has one closer to the production period of your pistol and can compare the serial number digit 4.

Obviously Rem Rand slide. Rem Rand and Colt had serial numbers in the same range in 1943. The style of the serial number says it is a Colt when compared to other serial numbers in this range. The GHD stamp is also indicative of a Colt. All Rem Rand frames were stamped FJA. GHD was an ordnance inspector from 1942-1945. You have a 1943 Colt frame.
