CMP M1C - reunited with original matching mount

I took some some pictures of a CMP M1C that I was able to reunite with its original matching mount. Only two of the 1600 plus CMP M1C’s had serial numbers that matched recorded mount serial numbers. The screws holding the M82 scope into the mount are deeply staked so the scope is likely the original as well.

This rifle was originally assembled at the end of WWII then rebuilt during the 1951-52 program. It had receiver staking, but shows the angular marks where the receiver staking was cut out during the rebuild. The screw staking was added when the bracket was reassembled to the receiver. It has an unnumbered Griffin & Howe bracket, and a 1-52 barrel. It was later refinished by the Greek’s with the “Greek black" finish.

Here are some pictures of an M1D received through the CMP lottery in 1997. It has a Winchester receiver with a SA 3-52 barrel. It came with all the accessories shown plus scope case, cleaning equipment etc.

I like to think what sets this one apart is the wood. Really pretty M1D, If I do say so...

I finally got all of the accessories. The M1C's serial number is 3347850 and the detachable mount/rings serial number is 3348060, only 210 difference. The M1C's scope is a vintage Lyman Alaskan with repro sunshade and rubber eyepiece.

EDIT: I have received several inquiries about the repro sunshade and eyepiece. I got the sunshade from someone on Gunbroker.com who had them custom-made. There are no more available. The eyepiece was sold by Numrich but it is no longer available either.

While I had my camera out I took a picture of my other sniper rifles. The 91/30 was used in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

Rack Grade M1C that came last week. Matching stamped base. Set up in USMC 1952 configuration using mount from Tar Heel Ordnance and Kollmorgen Bear Cub 4X scope.
(Rifle came with HRA 1/2" DAS marked stock but is now sporting a SA/RA marked stock. I have to say that I am impressed with the Tar Heel Ordnance mount. It required no fitting and is rock solid.)

Service Grade M1D that I got last year.

M1 Scout chambered in 308. Ultimak scope mount with Burris 2.75x Scout Scope.

Service grade M1C from CMP . came with base. Mount is new producion from Griffin and Howe 1" with inserts for 7/8 after market M84. Not the real deal, but close enough for an old goat to say I have one before I get planted. Bayonet is real and just in photo for an effect I wanted.

yep. There was one that went for about 1000$ for just the scope but then I saw this one and got lucky.
