Would love to see the black-finished rifles, one of those with low barrel numbers would fit perfectly in one of my planned projects.

I was going to get you a picture of them when I stopped by for my closing report. All three had sold...... Maybe they will have more next week?

Default Saturday closing report

There were 50 rifles remaining at closing of the possible 66.

SA and HRA SG/FG’s took the hit today and there was no restock. The three black finish rifles were sold today.

CMP Specials .308, IHC FG, other rifles remain about the same, as well as the sling box...

Good luck on your searches.

I believe they we’re Greek returns, but there are others that know more about them than me. They had beautiful flat black finish on the receivers, which I haven’t seen in the last few years...

I've seen that same black finish on M1's that came out of Interarms/Manchester years ago.
I don't recall if there is an actual chemical name for the finish [like Parkerizing], I think they just called it "Blacking." Maybe a much simpler method to refinish rifles than Parkerizing???

I've been told that it is an oxidation process rather than a phosphating process, and comes off easily via application of acid solutions such as naval jelly. Just passing on what I've heard from others who have experimented with the black finishes.
