Default New Service Grade

I received my new service grade last week. Springfield 3628822, a March 1945 rifle. The rifle has many correct parts and the parkerizing is very nice, including the internal parts. To me the parkerizing looks original (bright chamber) but if anyone has any input on that let me know. Muzzle and throat erosion listed at 1+ on the March 1945 marked barrel (likely original). It also had an uncut Springfield - 9 operating rod with a flat side (correct for 3/45). Follower is marked 12 which is correct.

The only non Springfield part is the trigger housing which is an HRA.

There is a casting on the trigger that looks like it says "67" "S". https://flic.kr/p/2hdqxwP
Does anyone know what that is? I have only physically handled one other trigger, which is on my 5 digit Springfield Service Grade and it does not have this casting marking.

I am very happy with this rifle, as I am with my first CMP Service grade. Thank you CMP! No matter what you receive, an M1 from the CMP is a special piece of history. Each of these rifles were made during difficult and uncertain times in our country's history, WWII and the Cold War. They were used by U.S. Servicemen in several wars, and then distributed to our allies for their use in the 1960's and beyond. After their retirement from the U.S. Arsenal, these rifles are now finding homes with the citizens of this great country, some of whom exist only because their fathers and grandfathers were armed with these rifles and returned home from service alive. It is an honor to own one of these rifles.

Just SA forging marks from WWII.

I forgot to mention the lock bar sights. I think the first thing i said when I opened the case was "awesome, lock bars!"

Barrel date matches manufacture date and it has great erosion numbers too. Awesome score!

You also have a correct bolt, safety and hammer plunger. The ME and TE are outstanding!
She'll only need a few more parts and a SA/NFR stock, and you'll have a corrected rifle. Your scored with this beauty!
