OK--CMP 5.2.4 does contain the words "as issued" but only in 5.2.4 e) which does not apply to M14, M1A rifles. The M1A and AR15 rifles occupy a unique category in that there are no "as issued" M1A or AR15 rifles. While CMP has extrapolated some rules from the M16/M4 and M14 rifles, the fact remains that M1A and AR15 rifles are commercial, not military. Good Shooting....
