Default Thursday closing report

There were 59 rifles at closing and there was a small restock during the day. Ten rifles were sold and restocked with five IHC SG’s, four have LMR barrels, all with CMP stocks except one with SA stock with cartouche and SA 3-53 barrel.

Strong inventory of CMP Specials and IHC FG rifles. Tomorrows restock inventory should be about the same as today’s.

Good luck on your searches.

The SA barrel on the SG IHC wouldn't happen to be original would it? The barrel date sure is in the right time frame. Do you know the serial?

Unfortunately Ron I didn’t get the serial number, but there was a 4669xxx and others were 500xxxx I believe. The cartouche was pretty good but couldn’t make out for sure but I think JLG with good ordnance wheel.

All the IHC rifles with original SA barrels in Duff's blue book are in the 4.44 serial range. If I knew for sure that it was one of those I'd leave home now and head south towards Anniston.

Ron it could be but just not for sure, didn’t write it down and working off memory and for a guy 70 plus that could be risky.....

Default Friday Closing Report

New inventory at the store has been slim picking since first of the year and not looking any better in the near future. Almost no rotation of rifles, average about 5 new rifles at opening, same inventory as last year!!!

CMP Specials, 24.

IHC SG 5/ FG 26

SA ZERO

WRA ZERO

Only new addition 1, M1D RG WRA #2390133, SA 3/53 barrel, 3+/5, overall good condition.

Other rifles remain about the same.

Good luck on your searches.

Ron,
SA barrels are also reported on 5 mil IHCs, but I can tell you that after several years looking at the South Store I have not seen any and I generally look at EVERY IHC when I am there every few weeks.
I will certainly let everyone know if I ever do find one.
HRA also used SA barrels in the 5.7 range and I did actually find one of those recently but it had such a strong Turkish-influenced color that I had to let it pass and I will keep on looking.

Both are on my collecting bucket list.

just for what its worth,
Rob
